Stardew Valley Year 1: 0 to 100k Gold Roadmap (1.6)
0 → 100k gold in Stardew Valley Year 1? Season-by-season crop plan from Spring Parsnips to Fall Pumpkins — the meta strategy for Stardew Valley 1.6.
Making 100k in Year 1 is totally doable if you optimize your seasons. Stop buying furniture and focus on seeds and tool upgrades. That's the meta.
Quick summary
- Spring: Grind Parsnip for XP, then dump all gold into Strawberry at the Egg Festival.
- Summer: Blueberry are your cash cow. Melon for bulk profit.
- Fall: Cranberries and Pumpkins will carry you to the 100k mark.
- Winter: Hit the Mines and upgrade your Watering Can.
Spring: Building the Foundation
Your main goal is hitting Farming level 6 for Quality Sprinklers. Start with the 15 Parsnips you got for free. Then, buy Potatoes — they have a chance for double harvests, which is huge early on.
The Strawberry Meta
The Egg Festival on Spring 13 is your most important day. Save at least 5,000g to 10,000g. Buy as many Strawberry seeds as possible and plant them that night. You'll get two harvests before Summer. This is your ticket to a massive Summer season.
Summer: Blueberry Era
Once Summer hits, go all-in on Blueberries. They yield multiple berries per plant and regrow. It’s consistent, brain-dead profit.
| Crop | Seed Price | Estimated Profit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blueberry | 80g | Very High | Multiple harvests, no replanting needed |
| Melon | 80g | Medium | Good for Preserves Jars |
| Starfruit | 400g | Insane | Only if you unlock the Oasis early |
Honestly, Blueberries are the safest bet for any beginner.
Fall: The Final Push
Fall is where you cash out. Cranberries work just like Blueberries but with higher sell values. If you have Preserves Jars or Kegs, put your Pumpkins in them. It more than doubles the value.
Always check the Traveling Cart on Fridays and Sundays for the Rare Seed. It costs 1,000g but the Sweet Gem Berry sells for 3,000g minimum. Easy money.
Winter: Don't Slack Off
You can't grow outdoor crops, but you shouldn't be broke.
- Go deep into the Mines for ore — see the tool upgrade order to stay efficient.
- Fish at the ocean on sunny days for quick cash.
- Craft Quality Sprinklers so you never have to hand-water in Year 2.
Common Beginner Mistakes
- Selling all your Wood and Stone: You'll need thousands for Coops and Barns later. Hoard them.
- Ignoring the TV: Missing weather reports and "Living off the Land" tips is a rookie move.
- Bad Tool Timing: Sending your Watering Can to Clint when you have 100 crops to water.
